Licenses
See how many licences your organization has and who holds one, assign, change and release licences, and order more
Everything about licences happens in one place: the Licenses tab of Organization settings → Billing & usage → Billing. The tab shows how many licences are assigned and how many there are in total per tier and who holds one, and it is where you order more. The other tabs of the page are described under Billing.
Two kinds of roles open the tab:
- With the permission Manage billing and licences you assign licences and order more.
- With the permission Assign licences you hand out, switch and revoke licences from the stock your organization already has. You cannot order with it; the buttons for that are not shown, and the page shows no other tab.
Once the limit is reached, you need more licences before you can invite or activate members. Members without a licence can sign in but cannot use the chat. A deactivated member uses no licence.
Who holds a licence
The table License holders lists the active members with their licence. Search members finds someone by name or email, and the filter shows only members With license or Without license. In the License column you choose for each member:
- a tier, to assign a licence or change the tier, for example from Business to Business 5x. Each tier shows how many of its licences are free.
- No license, to release the licence so someone else can use it.
When no licence of the tier you want is free, the page tells you who can order more. If a partner looks after your organization, the partner's staff carry the badge Partner license: they are licensed through the partnership and use none of your organization's licences. As long as a Business organization has not bought any licences yet, the page only shows the purchase.
On the Members page, clicking a member's licence takes you to that member's row on this tab.
Business organizations
Business licences come in two tiers:
- Business: full chat access with the standard usage budget per seat.
- Business 5x: five times the usage budget per seat, for people who use DeutschlandGPT heavily.
"5x" is budget, not a seat count. A 5x licence covers exactly one person. To add five more people you still need five licences.
Buy seats for the first time: choose Monthly or Yearly (yearly gives you 2 months free), set the number per tier and confirm. Payment runs through Stripe. To change the numbers later, set each tier to the new total you want and confirm with Place paid order. The difference is charged immediately, prorated.
If your subscription has ended while members still hold seats, the page offers to subscribe again or to Release unfunded seats.
During a Business trial, the page shows a notice about the test phase and lets you buy licences early.

Enterprise organizations
Sales-managed organizations see their Enterprise and Enterprise 5x licences with the assigned and free counts.
- Request more orders additional licences. Enter how many you need and confirm with Place paid order. The order is binding: your licence limit rises immediately, and billing runs through your regular invoice. If a partner manages your organization, the button reads Request from partner: your request goes to the partner, and your licence limit rises once they increase the licences. Pricing and billing are handled by the partner. Switching individual licences to Enterprise 5x also goes through the partner.
- Upgrade to Enterprise 5x moves selected members from an Enterprise licence to Enterprise 5x. The change takes effect immediately; you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the current billing period.
Notices when licences run short
Billing admins of an Enterprise organization see a notice in the chat as licences run short:

The button opens an order form right there. After you confirm, the limit rises immediately and the invoice follows. Remind me later hides the notice until the licence numbers change. Hiding the 90 % notice does not hide the 100 % one. Business organizations get no such notice.
