App access
Decide whether the members of your organization may use DeutschlandGPT in the desktop app, the Chrome extension, the Office add-ins and the mobile app as well as in the browser
Under Organization settings → Members & access → App access you decide which apps the members of your organization may use to reach DeutschlandGPT. You need the permission Manage organization settings.
Members can always work in the browser. Every other app has a switch of its own here, which applies to the whole organization.
The switches
All switches are on by default.
| Switch | What it blocks when it is off |
|---|---|
| Desktop app | The DeutschlandGPT desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, with Chat, Cowork and Code. |
| Chrome extension | The side panel in the Chrome browser. The switch appears only when the Chrome extension is enabled for your organization. |
| Office add-ins | The add-ins for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, all four together. |
| Mobile app | The mobile app for iOS and Android. |
A switch is a global off for the whole organization. While it is on, each member's role still decides: the desktop app, the Chrome extension and each Office add-in have a role permission of their own under Roles. The mobile app has no role permission of its own, so this switch alone decides there.
What happens when you switch one off
Before a switch goes off, the page asks you to confirm. The block applies at once and to every member, you included:
- The blocked app refuses every request from that moment on, also for members who are already signed in there. Signing in again does not help.
- The desktop app shows a notice that your organization has switched it off. If you switch off the desktop app from inside the desktop app, you lock yourself out there and can switch it back on only in the browser.
- The Chrome extension shows a notice that your organization has switched it off instead of the chat.
- The Office add-ins no longer answer a message and show a notice that access is not enabled.
- Everyone keeps working in the browser.
Switch it back on and the app works again at once. In the desktop app, Check again is enough.
How members sign in, for example with single sign-on or two-factor authentication, is set under Sign-in & SSO. Those rules apply in every app too.
