Preferences

Preferences is where you set the defaults every new chat starts with: which model writes the answers, which model generates images, and which language the AI replies in.

Choose your default chat model

Pick the model used when you start a new chat. You can override it per conversation at any time, so this is just the starting point.

Choose your image generation model

Pick the model used for image generation requests.

Set the language the AI answers in

This controls the language the AI writes its responses in. It is separate from the interface language. You can keep the interface in German and still have the AI answer in English.
