Settings

Where the desktop settings live, how they are grouped, and which of them apply to this device rather than your account

The desktop app keeps profile and settings in one window. Open it with Cmd/Ctrl+,, or through your avatar in the sidebar, or from the menu bar.

The left rail of that window has three blocks:

BlockContents
Profile settingsYour name, avatar and password
LibrarySkills, tasks, document folders and prompt templates: the same items as in the browser, on the same account
SettingsGeneral, Chat, Usage, Notifications, Shortcuts, Data storage and, if enabled for you, Dictation

The settings groups

Per device or per account

Some settings travel with your account and take effect in the browser and on every device. Others describe this installation and stay on it.

SettingApplies to
Answer language, voice-input language, retention periodsAccount
Appearance, zoom, interface languageThis device
Shortcuts, notifications, dictation preferences, folder accessThis device
Answer depth, task list, permission mode in Code and CoworkThis device

A setting that lives on this device is not synced. If you use DeutschlandGPT on a second computer, set it there as well.

What is missing here

Anything that concerns your whole organization, such as roles, groups, available models, single sign-on or billing, is managed in the browser under Organization. The desktop app deliberately does not duplicate those screens.
