Custom AI Applications (Spezialanwendungen)
Create and use custom AI assistants pre-configured with specific instructions, context knowledge, and personas
Custom AI Applications (Spezialanwendungen) are reusable AI assistants: configure one once, then use it as often as you like. Each application carries its own system instructions, context files, language model, and example prompts, so every conversation starts exactly where you want it.
Open
Custom AI Applications (Spezialanwendungen)
directly in the app to browse and create assistants.
You have three ways to get started: use a ready-made template, open an application your organization has shared, or build your own from scratch.
Finding applications
Open Spezialanwendungen in the left sidebar. The page is divided into three tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| All | Every application visible to you |
| Shared with me | Applications other users in your organization have shared |
| Created by me | Applications you have built |
A template gallery at the top surfaces pre-built starters such as Change-Log & Release, Meeting Summary, and Text Corrector. Click any template or application to open a chat with it immediately.
Creating an application
Click Create Application in the top-right corner, then fill in the fields.
Name
Required. The name shown in the application list and at the top of chats that use it.
Description
Optional, up to 1,024 characters. Explains the purpose of the application to other users. The AI does not read this text.
Instructions
Required, up to 80,000 characters. This is the core system prompt the AI actually reads. Describe:
- What tasks the assistant should handle
- How it should communicate with users
- What tone or role it should take
First message
Optional, up to 2,048 characters. An opening message the AI sends automatically when a new chat starts. Use it to greet users, introduce the topic, or ask a targeted opening question.
Once a first message is set, the app hides the example prompts below the input field.
Language model
Defaults to User's language model, the model the user currently has selected. Alternatively, lock the application to a specific model.
Context knowledge
Upload files the AI can read and reference when answering. Drag and drop or click Upload files. Uploaded files appear under Context knowledge.
Example prompts
Add up to 10 suggested prompts. In new conversations, the app shows up to four of them at random above the input field. This guides users toward the most common use cases.
Access permissions
Control who can see and use the application. Click Manage access. Administrators in your organization always have write access.
Live preview
While creating or editing an application, test it right away: the chat panel on the right shows a live preview of the current configuration before you save.
Editing and managing
From the application list, each item has two controls:
- Edit: opens the configuration form
- ⋯ menu: further actions such as duplicate and delete
