GPTs over MCP

List, read, create, change, share and delete your GPTs and their knowledge files from Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or any other MCP client.

The DeutschlandGPT MCP server gives an AI client access to your GPTs: list them, read one with everything its editor shows, create and change GPTs, add knowledge files from your Drive, share them with groups and colleagues, copy and delete them.

Prerequisites

  • The MCP server has to be enabled for your organisation. If Settings → Connected apps shows no Connect an AI assistant card, ask your admin or support.
  • Over MCP the same rules apply as in the editor: you see the GPTs you can use, change only those you may edit, and your role's permissions and your licence's GPT limit apply. A model can only be pinned if you could pick it in the editor.

Connect a client

1

Open Settings → Connected apps and copy the command or JSON snippet for your client from the Connect an AI assistant card. The URL shown there belongs to your own host, so use it instead of the example URL below.

2

Register the server in your client:

BASH
claude mcp add --transport http deutschlandgpt https://dialog.deutschlandgpt.de/mcp
3

On the first call the client opens the DeutschlandGPT sign-in. Sign in and confirm the consent screen. The client receives a token for exactly the permissions you pick there.

4

For GPTs, pick what you need: gpts.read to read, gpts.write to also create, change and copy GPTs and manage their knowledge files, gpts.manage to also delete and share them.

You can disconnect the client again at any time under Connected apps. Issued tokens stop working immediately.

Tools

GPTs are named by their id, which gpts_list returns. Groups are named by name and colleagues by email.
