Recording meetings
Record a conversation with microphone and system audio, and get a transcript with an automatic summary
The desktop app can record a meeting on your device, transcribe it and summarise it, a video call as well as a conversation in the room.
Recording a conversation concerns everyone taking part in it. Tell the other participants before you start, and follow your organization's rules and the law that applies to you.
Recording
Pick the language, or leave it on automatic detection. Capture system audio additionally records the other side of a video call; without it only your microphone is recorded.
Start the recording. A small widget stays visible while it runs and shows both channels separately, so you can see at a glance that the other side is actually being captured.
Stop it. Transcription and summary run afterwards; the finished meeting then appears in the app and in the browser.
System audio
Capturing the other participants requires the screen and system audio recording permission on macOS. The app asks for it and links straight into the system settings.
After granting it you have to quit the app completely and open it again, because macOS only applies the change to a newly started process. "Check again" in the dialog tells you whether it took effect.
If system audio cannot be started, the recording continues with the microphone alone rather than being lost.
Sharing
By default a recording belongs to you. Share with organization makes it visible to everyone in your organization: useful for a team meeting, the wrong choice for a one-to-one.
If your organization works under professional-secrecy rules, transcription and summarisation run exclusively on compliant infrastructure, and the dialog says so before you start.
Limits and errors
A recording ends automatically when the maximum length is reached, and what was recorded until then is processed normally. Audio recorded while the connection is down is uploaded afterwards, and the widget shows the backlog.
Errors are named rather than swallowed:

Where the recordings are
Finished meetings are listed in the app and in the browser, with transcript and summary. How long transcripts and audio are kept is set under Data storage, and audio is never kept longer than its transcript.
